ASO Cancellation Policy

At ASO, we understand that cancellations may occasionally be necessary.  We have implemented a comprehensive cancellation policy to ensure smooth operations and uphold the highest level of professionalism.  To facilitate the process, please follow these guidelines:

Varsity or Collegiate Assignments:
If you need to cancel a varsity or collegiate assignment, please notify our office immediately.  We will take responsibility for locating a suitable replacement official on your behalf.  It is essential not to arrange your own replacement for these assignments.

Sub-Varsity or Middle School Assignments:
For sub-varsity or middle school assignments, you are required to find your own replacement. Once you have secured a replacement official registered with the Commissioner of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), contact our office with the name of the replacement and the reason for the cancellation.

Confirmation of Cancellations:
No cancellation is considered final until we have contacted you. In the event of an assignment cancellation, a change in date, site, or time, our office will get in touch with you promptly. We kindly request that you confirm receipt of such messages to avoid any miscommunication.

Professional Courtesy:
When canceling an assignment, we expect all officials to act with professionalism and courtesy. We will always assist in finding a replacement, and in most cases, we can take care of the process for you. However, please respect our offer to help, and do not abuse it by canceling with little notice or offer to help find your own replacement.

Communication with Partners and Host School:
For your own convenience and to maintain the integrity of our assignments, we encourage you to Do The Little Things to make your officiating experience error free.

Bad experiences can be avoided when the scheduled officials do the little things.

Did you communicate with the home school so you can confirm game details and build rapport?
Did you communicate with the home school to avoid traveling to a game that has been changed or canceled?
Did you communicate with your partners so you can confirm transportation and pre-game responsibilities?
Did you communicate with your partners so they show up and you do not have work alone or with a shortened crew?
Did you get directions so you show up at the right place at the right time?
Did you arrive at your assignment early so you can perform all your pre-game duties?

Thank you for your commitment to ASO and our dedication to providing quality officiating services. By adhering to this cancellation policy, we can continue to foster a professional environment and ensure the successful execution of all assignments.

Sincerely,

Jerry and Melissa
